Luis Alberto Spinetta (Buenos Aires, January 23, 1950-Ib., February 8, 2012) was an Argentine singer, guitarist, poet, writer and composer, considered one of the most important and respected musicians in Argentina, Latin America and the world. He speaks Spanish due to the instrumental, lyrical and poetic complexity of his musical works, both in his multiple groups and as a soloist. The Argentine government established January 23th as "National Musician's Day" in honor of his birth.
